MGI’s Summer Dress Down Program to Benefit Four Worthy Causes
M. Griffith Investment Services has long participated in “Dress Down For a Cause.” This summer, we invited our employees to participate every Friday during the months of July and August and gave them the opportunity to submit their favorite charities to benefit. The charities that were selected include:
1) Joseph's Experience
This camp for children with cancer is located in Bridgewater, NY. Their mission is to "enhance the quality of life of children, adults, and their families who are affected by severe medical conditions such as Cancer & Leukemia. Joseph’s Experience aims to empower these individuals and students through effective action and leadership of qualified volunteers and encourage youth to become civic minded contributing adults.” They are committed to “enhancing emotional, social, and spiritual health through volunteerism, social interaction, and life skills education.” To learn more, click here.
2) Purrs & Whiskers
This cat rescue center is located in New Hartford, NY. They say that their goal "is simple... no cat should ever suffer. Between adoptions, fosters, and TNR programs, we take care of as many cats in the community as possible." To learn more, click here.
3) Children's Miracle Network
The Children's Miracle Network has helped hospitals fill funding gaps by raising more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time through Miracle Balloon icon campaigns, with the overall mission of increasing funds and awareness for children's hospitals. Our local Children's Miracle Network Hospital is Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare. To learn more, click here.
4) The Joseph Michael Chubbuck Foundation, Inc.
This local charity was established in memory of Joseph Michael Chubbuck, who passed away at the young age of 22 due to a rare, aggressive, and unidentifiable cancer. The organization's mission is to provide financial assistance to cancer patients and their families in need, guide and advocate for people battling all types of cancer, raise awareness/promote prevention and early detection, and provide funding for cancer research, treatment equipment and education.
