Mike is Vice President of M. Griffith Investment Services, and Group Head of Evans Retirement Advisors, focused on helping you plan for, transition into and enjoy a comfortable and fulfilling retirement. A former advertising agency entrepreneur, Mike joined M. Griffith in 1984. He obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP^®) designation in 1987, and fulfills his biennial continuing education requirement with an emphasis on retirement planning issues. He has taught adult education courses on Retirement Planning at Utica College and SUNY Institute of Technology. Mike is a long-time member of the Financial Planning Association and the Upstate NY Chapter of FPA, and has a long history of community service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the MVCC Foundation.

As an adjunct to personal retirement planning counsel, Mike also works with small business owners and professionals to establish or enhance employer-sponsored Retirement Plans. He provides specialized Retirement Income services to high-net-worth individuals who can sustain the added risk that may accompany high-yielding portfolios. Mike also works with local/regional non-profit organizations to help manage and monitor their precious financial resources in support of their good works.

Mike is a native of Utica, was educated in local schools, is a graduate of Union College and is a U.S. Navy veteran. He has been married for more than 40 years to the former Helen Costello of Clinton. Their daughter teaches in the Utica City School System and lives in New Harford with her husband and two children. Their son lives and works in Colorado, a regular destination for Mike and Helen every ski season. They also share an interest in golf, tennis and their weekend home in the Adirondacks.
